What we collect, and why

• Newsletter signups. Your email address, when you subscribed, and which page you subscribed from. Nothing else, not even your name. Used only to send the newsletter you asked for.
• Event submissions. The event details you provide and your email address. Your email is used only to verify the submission and is never displayed publicly.
• Event reports. The report details and, if you choose to give one, your email address, used only to follow up. Never displayed publicly.
• Donations. Donations are processed by NanoCart and its payment processors (Stripe or PayPal). Your card details never touch this website or our servers. We receive the donation amount and, if you provide one, the email address for your receipt.
• Technical basics. Like almost every website, our infrastructure (Amazon Web Services) keeps standard server logs that can include IP addresses and browser information, used for security and operations. Our bot-protection check (Cloudflare Turnstile) also processes technical information about your browser to tell people from bots on our forms.

What we do not do

• No advertising, ad networks, or ad tracking.
• No analytics trackers, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting scripts.
• No selling, renting, or trading of personal information, ever.
• No accounts, no profiles, no cross-site tracking.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. This site is not directed at children.

Third-party services we use

These services process limited information when you use the site:

• Amazon Web Services hosts the site, our databases, and our email lists.
• Cloudflare Turnstile protects our forms from bots. It processes technical browser information under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• NanoCart handles donations, using Stripe or PayPal for payment processing. The donation widget stores a session identifier in your browser to make checkout work.
• Google Fonts serves this site's typefaces, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers (disclosing your IP address to Google, as with any content served from a third party).

We link to many external sites and community projects (maps, research tools, source articles). Once you leave this site, their privacy practices apply, not ours.

How long we keep information

• Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. When you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal suppression record so we do not email you again by mistake; you can request full deletion instead.
• Event submissions and reports are kept as a moderation and accuracy record for the listings we publish.
• Donation records are kept as required for financial and tax record-keeping.

Your choices and rights

• Every newsletter email will include an unsubscribe link that works with one click.
• You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing blockflock@bytebunny.io. We will respond to every reasonable request; note that we may need to retain donation records where financial rules require it.
• We honor these requests for everyone, regardless of where you live.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Submission and signup data is stored in access-controlled databases, and our public-facing systems are built so they cannot modify or bulk-read the data they collect. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but minimizing what we collect in the first place is our primary safeguard: data we never collect cannot leak.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its date. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle information you already gave us, we will say so prominently on the site.
