Two former Illinois officers indicted over alleged unauthorized Flock license plate searches

A DuPage County grand jury indicted former Itasca officer Marisa Ciccola, 30, and former West Chicago officer Gerardo Solis, 39, on Sept. 29 over allegedly unauthorized searches of Illinois license plates through Flock Safety databases, the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office announced. Ciccola faces 13 Class 3 felony counts of official misconduct and eight misdemeanor computer tampering counts; Solis faces one felony misconduct count and one misdemeanor computer tampering count. Both turned themselves in and were released pending trial, with a hearing set for Nov. 16. The allegations have not been proven in court, and the two cases are described as separate.

Why this matters

The charges add to a series of Illinois cases in which officers have been accused of querying ALPR systems for personal reasons, raising questions about how audit logs and access controls are monitored across the many agencies sharing Flock data.
