Two Anderson County residents arrested over alleged Flock camera vandalism in central Kentucky

Lawrenceburg police arrested two people on Sept. 22 during an investigation into Flock Safety cameras that were destroyed or removed across several central Kentucky counties. Investigators said four cameras in Lawrenceburg had been damaged or taken, and neighboring agencies in Franklin and Woodford counties reported similar incidents. A witness told Versailles police they saw a woman shoot a Flock camera with a shotgun along Kentucky 33 before the vehicle drove toward Lexington; officers later stopped the vehicle in Lawrenceburg with help from the Anderson County Sheriff's Office. The charges are allegations, and no convictions have been reported.

Why this matters

Physical damage to ALPR cameras has become a recurring flashpoint in communities debating the technology, and how agencies investigate and charge such cases sets precedent for other jurisdictions with growing camera networks.
